Since every person is unique, each coaching relationship is too! The general framework of our coaching model is multi-layered. We begin each relationship by interviewing the client (and the parents, if the client is a student). We gather data from teachers, educational psychologists, parents and students to get a better understanding of the client. During our initial meeting with, we determine what has been getting in the way of their academic success and then we jump right in and set some realistic goals.
Your and coach will meet once per week for 30 minutes to an hour to target specific goals and making plans for reaching those goals. Following our weekly goal setting meeting we text, email, Zoom. This daily contact works for accountability and is a chance for the coach to find out how they are doing with their goals and how to solve some problems they might have encountered along the way. Sometimes the daily check-in is a time to applaud their great effort and success while other times, we really need to make some changes in daily habits so they can hit the target.

Parent Consultant
I was a classroom teacher and reading specialist for over 17 years. I started Peterson Academic Coaching more than eight years ago to help students maximize their strengths and boost self-confidence through developing their executive function skills. I facilitate professional development for educators, lead parent education workshops and train coaches. I have completed training and workshops with Peg Dawson and Jodi Sleeper-Triplett who are leading experts in the field of ADHD and executive function skill coaching. I have my Masters of Education from Seattle University with a focus on diverse learners and literacy.
I am a lifelong learner and geek out over the latest research on how our brains work. I love to share tips, tricks and resources to help guide my clients toward their goals. I know we are all capable of great things, we just need the tools and a bit of guidance to get there.
I am a mom of three boys and dog mom of one. I enjoy concerts, backpacking, hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, creating art, cooking and finding awesome restaurants.
I look forward to chatting with you after you book a consultation on the website.

Student Intake Coordinator
I love to break apart prompts, put strings of words together and help students get their thoughts out of their brains and onto paper. Writing is hard for many students, and I think it’s thrilling when kids realize writing isn’t a mysterious talent, but a skill they can harness and use and I can teach them how. I feel the same way about teaching Executive Functioning skills and working as an Academic Coach. When one of my students has an “ah ha” moment and they realize that an organizational strategy can actually change their school experience for the better, it’s a thrill.
I spent years in the classroom as a high school English teacher and then as an ELL teacher and reading specialist before becoming an Academic Coach, where I get to work one on one with kids on their “ah ha” moments every day.
I am also a mom to three school age boys and a golden retriever. Our family stays crazy busy with all the sports and my boys keep me in the know about all the things I would otherwise be ignorant to because I would rather get lost in a novel: Minecraft, Fortnite, scootering, or parkour anyone?
As the student intake coordinator, we will be in touch when you are ready to launch your student’s coaching session.
Coach
As a classroom teacher I find the most important part of my job starts with building relationships and making connections with my students. Letting students discover their trust in me allows them to be open and willing to learn. Before teaching, I worked as a banking center manager and also found the highest level of success with my customers began with building relationships with them. When I heard of the opportunity to be a academic and executive functioning coach, I felt motivated right away to find students that I could work with to help aid in their success by finding their strengths and opportunities to maximize on.
In addition to teaching and coaching, I am a mom of two high school kids that keep me busy with sports and social schedules. My husband is also in education and we have been proud to aid in our kids’ education success by helping them focus on many different executive functioning skills.
In my spare time I enjoy outdoor fitness; hiking, trail running, bike riding and also teach yoga. Our family loves to spend time in Lake Chelan and we look forward to more travel as our kids’ schedules open up over the years.
Coach
I grew up in Chicago and am still a huge Cubs fan even though I have lived in Seattle for the last 10 years with my wife and two daughters.
I have been an executive function coach since 2015. I think of coaching as “getting you where you want to go”, and try to help my clients clarify their values and vision. I was the Program Director for a coaching program in schools throughout Washington state for 8 years where I installed coaching programs and taught educational staff how to build executive function skills with their students. I have a PCC certification from the International Coaching Federation.
I enjoy tennis, hiking, biking, basketball, skiing, reading, and spending time in all of Seattle’s wonderful and eccentric neighborhoods.
Coach
I have been an educator for over 30 years and a dedicated life-long learner. Family, travel and education are my passions and ever since retiring from my position as a classroom teacher, I am now able to combine all three! I travel extensively, spend lots of time with my three grandchildren and coach students. As a classroom teacher, I always had special place in my heart for students with learning differences. Strong executive function skills are the key to success. Now, as an executive function coach, I thoroughly enjoy helping individuals find their unique and powerful selves! I encourage and support students to reach their goals by utilizing their strengths in developing healthy daily habits and systems for academic and personal success.
My students continue to amaze and inspire me!
Coach
I’ve been in the teaching field for over ten years. I received my Bachelors in Humanities and Social Work from Seattle University. This background helps me to support a student’s social-emotional development, as well as their academic skills. I received my Masters in Elementary Education and Curriculum Instruction from University of San Diego. This was a fantastic program which helped me learn teaching strategies, but also helped me realize my passion for teaching.
As well as being an Executive Function Coach, I am an English Language Learner Teacher and absolutely love working one-on-one with students of all ages. As an Academic and Executive Function Coach, I’ve coached fourth graders up to college age students.
While coaching, the students and I build a trusting and safe environment together. This way students can learn and practice important executive function strategies to help improve their organizational and management skills. Not only do my students strengthen the skills they already have, but, by providing additional resources, each student gains new skills they are fully capable of achieving. It’s rewarding to watch my students grow and thrive in this type of environment.
In my free time, I take advantage of the many gifts provided by the beautiful Northwest. I love hiking with family and friends, doing art of many forms and gardening. Whenever I have the chance, you’ll find me in the mountains snowboarding.
Coach
As a high school teacher, I find the most rewarding and foundational part of my job starts with building relationships and making connections with my students. I have taught for 22 years and I thoroughly enjoy helping my students discover their individual learning strengths and identify areas for growth. I see myself as a facilitator and also as a coach, cheering students on and helping them make strides toward their personal academic goals. As an AVID teacher, I have experience assisting students with multiple executive functioning skills and also helping them learn to advocate for themselves. When my own kids were in middle and high school, it became apparent that no two kids learn the exact same way! Each one has their own dynamic way of connecting with information! I understand how critical it is to explore different ways of digging into academic material. I also believe that by fostering grit and perseverance with challenges, the benefits extend way beyond the classroom!
In my spare time I enjoy doing anything outside! I love to run and hike, kayak and paddle board, play golf, and work in my yard. My favorite sidekick; now that both of my kids are in their 20’s, is our German Shepherd, Zoe. She prefers to be in the middle of anything and everything we have going on!

I am a Research Assistant Professor at Natural Heritage New Mexico working on projects such as species distribution modeling, riparian mapping, and modeling future climate connectivity. I conducted my PhD research at Texas A&M University Kingsville, studying the genetics and spatial ecology of an endangered population of ocelots in South Texas. Prior to beginning my PhD research, I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Fiji, and later as a tutor in Seattle, WA specializing in math, science, academic writing, statistical analysis, and R programming.
In addition to conservation biology, one of my great passions is helping students succeed academically. I have over 10 years of experience working with students ranging from young children to adults pursuing graduate degrees. I have worked as a full-time 5th and 6th grade teacher and have also taught college level courses in the fields of conservation biology and wildlife science.
My philosophy towards tutoring and coaching is based on helping my students develop the tools and techniques needed to ensure long-term future success.
Coach
I have been teaching English and Sociology at Cascade High School for over 25 years. As an avid soccer player, I also lead both the boys’ and girls’ soccer programs at Cascade.
I live in Everett with my two children and two crazy mutts. In my free time, you will most likely find me on a walk listening to a book.
Academic coaching is more than helping a student manage their classwork. It’s assisting them with organizational skills and strategies that will aid them in every area of their life. I enjoy helping my clients reach their personal and academic goals and find it very rewarding.
Coach
I am a former classroom teacher and currently a middle school assistant principal. My undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University (Go Bulldogs!) is in Special Education with a minor in Leadership Administration. My graduate work in Educational Leadership has shaped my commitment to lifelong learning but also to personal character growth and leadership.
With my experience both in the classroom and out, my ability to support students through coaching is a total joy. It has also been my goal to help students specifically with executive functioning and organization which allows my role to be more school success specific, creating space for parents to go back to parenting, rather than balancing the role of teacher and parent. Parents and guardians of course have a very important role to play in supporting their students’ school growth, but when it is possible for my partnership with your child to help enhance or refine their skills, everything gets better for the whole team.

Hello, I’m Brennan Redding. Hey but you can call me B, and my life’s mission is to be a dedicated champion for every child. Currently, I proudly serve as a Student Success Coach at Anacortes Middle School. My journey in education is deeply rooted in my own struggles as a student, which has ignited an unwavering commitment to providing the support and guidance I wished I had during my school years.
My personal story is one of overcoming challenges and transforming them into opportunities. I understand the frustration and self-doubt that can accompany academic difficulties, and it’s precisely this understanding that drives me to create a safe and nurturing environment where every student can flourish.
I firmly believe that every child is a unique individual with their own set of strengths and challenges. Through my warm and empathetic approach, I aim to unlock the untapped potential within each student I work with. But it’s not just about academics; it’s also about instilling a sense of belonging and self-confidence in young minds. When students feel valued and empowered, they’re more likely to excel academically and develop into confident, capable individuals.
Education is a transformative force, and I’m dedicated to being a catalyst for change in the lives of the students I encounter. My passion for working with children and my commitment to being their unwavering advocate drive me to shape a brighter future for the next generation.
Join me on this inspiring journey as we work together to empower and uplift every child because every child deserves a champion.

For the past 15 years I have been teaching middle school history in Snohomish. At Western Washington University my undergraduate degree was in history/social studies, with a post bachelor’s degree in secondary education. My graduate degree is in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career it has been my goal to give students as many tools as possible to help them achieve success not just in the classroom but also in life.
The coolest thing about me though is that I have ADHD! Learning about how my own brain works based on the struggles I encountered throughout my educational experiences has taught me a lot about how to use my ADHD superpower and build on it.
I understand firsthand the organizational struggles students face and love helping students find new skills that work best for them.
When I am not working with students I am always on the move. My family and I love to travel and are always seeking out new adventures. I love sports of all kinds, but as I’ve grown older I have narrowed them down to my favorites: skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and soccer. But really, anything that gets me outside and moving.

I have over 15 years of experience helping students and corporate clients identify tools and techniques needed to ensure the adoption of long-term successful habits.
My work has ranged from tutoring students in grades 6-12, teaching university level courses, and designing training programs for Fortune 500 companies. From tutor to professor to organizational analyst, my goal was to help my students and clients build the skills necessary to no longer need my services.
An interesting thing about me is that I played 5 seasons of semi-professional football in the US and Australia. I still enjoy playing and watching a variety of sports, but I can also be found creating art and exploring the outdoors with my wife and toddler in my free time.
Coach
Over my 20+ year career in education, I have been a classroom teacher for grades 4-7, a reading specialist, and ELL teacher for grades K-5. Most recently, I completed 11 years as an instructional coach, helping teachers to improve their work with students as well as coordinating an English/Spanish Dual Immersion program at a school in the Highline School District. I have learned a lot over the years about the particular difficulties that students with executive function challenges face as well as the incredible gifts they bring to the world.
In my work as a coach, I especially enjoy helping students and families set up systems to “automatize” strategies that address these challenges, making them easier to implement consistently and more likely to stick. I also have experience working with children dealing with sensory issues and can help parents analyze the specific triggers that may be leading to difficulties at home and school.
I was born and raised in Seattle and currently live in South Seattle with my husband and two daughters. I stayed local for college, earning my B.A. in Social Science Education from Seattle Pacific University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the U.W. When I have free time, you can find me hiking or backpacking in our beautiful mountains or on the water!

Growing up as a child of two public school teachers (with many other educators in our extended family), I always had an inkling that I’d end up working with or in schools one day. Now, with a bachelors degree and masters degree in social work from the University of Washington, being a school social worker has been a great fit for me. Since getting my degree I’ve spent time as a school-based mental health counselor working in elementary, middle, and high school settings before supporting elementary students and families as a counselor/social worker. I have found that being a supportive adult to students in the school setting, without being their teacher or parent, has given me opportunities to come alongside teachers and parents as a member of their kiddo’s support team to help the student develop the skills and strategies they’ll need to achieve their goals.
I truly enjoy getting to know individual students to help them identify what their strengths are and how to build on them to develop the set of skills and tools that will work best for them.
In my spare time I enjoy making music with my friends and family and spending as much time outside as the weather and my schedule will allow.
Coach
I have had the fortune to work with and learn from so many exceptional students throughout the 20 years I have been an educator. I am a Washington State certified K-8 teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts/Elementary Education from Seattle Pacific University. I also have two Master’s degrees from Seattle University: Special Education and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). In addition to my passion for teaching, I love gardening, walking/playing with my dogs, exercising (most of the time) and volunteering at a local animal rescue.
Early on in my career, I realized that I wanted to be able to meet as many of the needs of my learners in my own classroom as possible because of the relationships I am able to develop with my students to help them reach their social, emotional and academic potential, as well as, support them in their endeavors to be as successful as possible in all areas of their lives. Most importantly, I wanted to nurture an appreciation for and a value of learning in all of my students so that they could feel empowered to be problem solvers, self-advocates and seekers of knowledge.
Over the past 8 years, I have been a substitute teacher which has afforded me the flexibility to travel and teach in a variety of capacities and settings – I get the best of both worlds! I have the opportunity to meet, connect with and learn from a multitude of diverse learners everywhere I go. Students are truly my teachers because they help me learn how they learn best. As such, I am able to tailor my approach to each individual’s unique needs and help them discover and develop strategies, skills and the mindset needed to become confident, capable and self-sufficient learners.
Together, we can find ways to reduce stress, frustration and anxiety that adversely affect the ability to establish and accomplish attainable goals. We are all works in progress – I look forward to celebrating your many achievements and growth with you!
Coach
For 13 years I taught World History, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), and Senior Seminar at my alma mater, Cascade High School in Everett. As a lover of sports but with athletic skills that were “mid” as the kids would say, naturally, I chose to pursue coaching as well. During my time at Cascade I coached athletes in golf, tennis, and basketball. Several years ago, I moved on to pursue other passions but still tutor students, substitute teach occasionally, and teach comedy classes all over the country utilizing a curriculum I created.
Academic coaching allows me to implement the best practices I learned by way of the AVID program to help students pursue success. AVID is a college and career readiness program that helps students acquire the skills necessary not only to be successful in their daily classes, but equips them with the tools of preparedness as they pursue their post-secondary education, career, or other ventures. Primarily, we focused on improving writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading (WICOR) and personal relationships to help students reach their full academic potential. I’m experienced in helping students recognize the vital importance of goal-setting, organization, time management, peer tutoring, effective note-taking, self-advocacy, and problem solving as it relates to success in learning the content and earning fair marks in the classroom.
Snohomish County is where my residence is but I’m rarely there as I travel all over the world for my current work and life balance – sometimes places like Dubai and Pakistan but mostly just the western U.S. and often with my family attending concerts, baseball games, and comedy shows together. I lug my golf clubs everywhere I go so that I can overpay to try and lose my golf balls at the best courses I can find – those experiences help me teach young people about patience.

As a high school leadership and college/career readiness teacher with 16 years of experience, there is nothing more rewarding to me than supporting and celebrating students as they work towards and meet their academic and life goals. Similarly, I look forward to supporting and celebrating your student’s growth and achievements during our coaching relationship.
In my leadership classes, my students learn and practice skills like time management, organization, planning, prioritizing, self-monitoring, and flexibility through project-based learning. I am confident that everyone can develop and improve executive functioning skills with practice, encouragement, and time. As an executive functioning coach, my goal is to help students develop and utilize a toolbox of strategies that they can use to feel successful now and in the future.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English and dual endorsements in Elementary Education (K-8) and English Language Arts(6-12) from Western Washington University. I recently earned a Masters in Educational Technology, along with a certificate in Online Teaching from Boise State University. When it’s time for fun, you can find me riding my e-bike around town, attending Mariners games or Husky games (mostly for the halftime show- GO band!), or spending time with my family.

I am a Special Education Teacher and currently in my 16th year of teaching here in the great PNW. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Special Education from Central Washington University. I then went on to earn my Masters of Education from Seattle University. After my masters, I earned a post-graduate certification in Educational Leadership. I worked as a Secondary Director for several years, but found I was missing a key aspect of being in education, which was forming those relationships with students and families, so I decided to come back to the classroom..
I chose to get my degree and teach Special Education because I very much enjoy the one on one connections I can make with my students. Oftentimes I see students receive support in their main academic areas, but struggle to get more support in helping to understand how they learn best. Growing up, I struggled with academics and had to teach myself how to best learn the material being taught. I think these days students need that extra support in their executive functioning skills and just like math or reading, they need continued supported practice. I find working with students on organization, advocacy, goal planning, and other executive functioning skills to be the most beneficial, and rewarding, as it not only helps their current academics, but will also spill into many other aspects of their life and future.
In my spare time I enjoy being outside and exploring. My wife and I have traveled to many national parks and enjoy hiking. Being in the Pacific Northwest, there are also quite a few days in which the rain keeps falling, so I also enjoy the occasional binge watching of netflix or movies. We have also recently bought a small travel trailer and enjoy exploring new camping areas around the state.

Fostering a caring relationship that feels safe is essential when supporting students to recognize their own strengths and to manage their challenges. I enjoy teaching young learners strategies and skills that promote self-reflection, problem-solving and organization so they can feel successful academically and socially. It is very gratifying to support students at their own pace as they move toward independent work habits, using time wisely and making meaningful decisions around their own learning.
I received my BA in English as well as my K-8 Teaching Certificate with an ELL Endorsement from Humboldt State University. I have been teaching in Seattle Public Schools for the past fifteen years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. I also worked for the SPS Early Learning Department as a professional development coach.
In my spare time, I love to hang out with my three kids, walk our sixteen-year-old dog, read, do yoga and socialize with friends. My newest endeavor is taking Salsa dance lessons!

There are few things as rewarding as when a student has a moment and something they have been persisting in finally clicks. Working through the process of learning with a child and being alongside them and their grit and resolve to stick with it and figure it out is one of the main reasons I teach. Having taught for many years, I have seen over and over again the vital importance of developing a student’s executive functioning skills in order to allow for these successful learning opportunities. Having worked with a wide range of diverse learners, it continues to be at the core of life skills that carry a child through their many years of education and into a future career. I truly believe all students can learn and be successful if given the right tools. I also believe that developing strong trust in a supportive relationship can be the start to helping develop these tools. I look forward to partnering with you to create and practice the tangible skills needed to succeed.
Having completed my undergrad and masters at Seattle Pacific University, I moved to Italy to teach English and would love to move back someday if given the opportunity. Upon returning launched into being a literacy coach and math tutor, while subbing within two different districts. I then taught sixth grade for a few years, finally moving into my favorite role as a fourth grade teacher prior to having my own kids. Go Kokanee Kodiaks!
In my free time you can find me chasing after my toddler and cuddling my littlest babe, out in the garden with my bees, enjoying live music, traveling as much as possible and exploring the beautiful PNW trails and parks.

My teaching career began with three years in public schools in Chiba City, Japan. I spent another year teaching IB Psychology at a private school in Hong Kong. I’ve taught in three districts in Washington state: Marysville, Edmonds and Everett. My subject area experience includes middle school ELA, US History, French and Spanish. I am currently in my dream job as a high school librarian! I teach research skills, promote literacy and reading while running a very busy library for 1800 teens.
As a rule, good school librarians are organized thinkers. Sorting and categorizing helps our brains compartmentalize information for easier retrieval. We plan well in advance, create agendas, utilize calendars, strategize and collaborate with our colleagues. We listen carefully to students’ voices to improve resources and services. I routinely prioritize tasks, manage multiple calendars, spreadsheets and shared documents. I work closely with students to share all of these skills with very successful outcomes.
Every student is unique in their learning style. There is no cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all approach to success. I have worked with a wide variety of students, K-12 and am well-versed in strategies that help organize thinking to better develop executive functioning skills.
My post-secondary education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in Canada, a Master’s of Education from Antioch University in Seattle and most recently, a Master’s in Library Information Studies from the University of Alabama.
Besides reading voraciously, I love to snowboard in the winter, paddleboard in the summer and ride my bike whenever I can.
